One of the most significant additions in the remake is the expanded Northern Tundra, a desolate, snow-covered wasteland bordering the mountains. Hidden deep within this sub-zero territory lies the lost Tundra Temple of Innos, a forgotten shrine that offers valuable loot for players willing to brave the cold.
Navigating the Tundra requires preparation. The local wildlife—ranging from deadly Snow Wolves to hulking Ice Golems—can easily tear an underleveled convict apart. Before heading north, ensure you have visited all-skill-trainers to raise your strength or dexterity, and carry a reliable blade from our best-early-weapons list. Finding the Temple Entrance
To locate the ruins, head north past the Old Mine and follow the rising rocky ridges into the snowy canyon. Keep close to the eastern cliffside until you spot a narrow crevice guarded by two Ice Golems. Once you clear them out, you will find the entrance to the ancient temple.
The gateway to the Tundra Temple of Innos is blocked by a thick barrier of magical frost. Standard melee attacks will bounce right off. You need to melt the barrier:
- Fire Scrolls: Cast Fireball or Firestorm scrolls to weaken the ice.
- Torch Interaction: If you run out of mana, equipping a torch and interacting with the frozen pillar will slowly melt it down, though this takes longer and leaves you exposed.
Cleansing the Shrine and Claiming the Relics
Inside the dark, cavernous temple, you will face resurrected Skeleton Warriors. Unlike the standard diggers, these undead entities possess high physical resistance.
To open the central chamber, you must locate three unlit braziers scattered across the side rooms. Light each brazier using flint or fire magic. Once all three burn with Innos’s flame, the stone portcullis will slide open.
The main sarcophagus holds several valuable relics:
- Amulet of Innos: Provides +15 protection against fire and +10 against physical strikes.
- Rune Templates: Crucial for crafting higher-tier spell runes if you are pursuing rune-magic.
- Ancient Ore Shards: High-value barter items that can bolster your wallet in the ore-economy.
